Seed and plant swap

What’s it all about?
The Bridge Allotment Association Seed and Plant swap is a community event that brings together people to exchange plants, seeds, cuttings, gardening books and equipment.
How does it work?
Bring along any excess seeds (open packets are fine as long not too far past their expiry date), seedlings, cuttings, house plants, garden books, etc. and swap for seeds and plants that you want.
When you enter the hall you will be directed to the plant group tables – such as brassicas, salad, root vegtables, flowers, etc. Pop your plants and seeds onto the appropriate table and then browse to see what you would like in exchange – it’s as easy as that!
The event is free of charge but if you would like to make a donation any profits will be donated to a local charity. There will be refreshments available – so a chance catch up with friends and neighbours or make new connections.
Important things…
- Make sure your plants are healthy – free of pests and diseases.
- Clearly label all plants and seedlings.
- If you have collected your own seeds make sure they are clearly labelled and not from hybrid plants (labelled F1) – as seedlings (from hybrid plants) are extremely variable
- try to use recycled containers if you can
- bring along a box to take away your plants and seeds!
